From us...
In his roles both as an AYLI Head Delegate and delegate, Benj has shown himself to be anything but lacking in three things: innovation, charisma, and leadership. Benj earned genuine friendship and trust from those in his delegation, as well as their admiration, whilst being able to keep them to task.

Benj's AYLI experience...
I caught up with David Gawith to get the highlights from the COP21 leaders event. Strong sentiments and emotive entreaties kicked off the negotiations. But who said what, and will words translate into actions?
Applications have almost closed to join AYLI's delegation to COP21 in Paris! There's still time to submit your application. So If you are still trying to make up your mind then have a quick look over these photos I took at last years conference in Lima, Peru. Then hurry and send in your application before the end of the day!
Short personal story - going to COP20 in Lima last December was the first time I've felt embarrassment as a New Zealander in the wider world. Our government, acting on our behalf, was doing far less than necessary to ensure a successful and robust international climate agreement. But now we have a chance to change that.
I was privileged to speak about my experiences at COP20 to one of my sponsors last night. COP was such an immense, intense, cathartic experience that within the 20 minute discussion I could really only give a brief overview of all that happened. But, one thing I was thanked for in particular was including plenty of photos from the adventure.
“…truth, honour, justice, and environmental integrity and sustainability. Once you have these things in your head they’re there, you can never be an asshole basically”.
Yesterday, the Western Leader wrote about our COP 20 delegates Benjamin Brooking, Renee Annan, Kern Mangan-Walker and Yong Ly travelling to Lima.
We are extremely proud to announce the selection of our delegation to the UN Climate Change Conference in Lima, Peru.
The delegation of seven will be led by Institute alumna Saskia McCulloch, who attended last year's COP19 with us in Warsaw.
